About the event

Join Franklin County NRCD for an on-farm event to learn about conservation along Vermont's rivers and streams, and programs that landowners and land stewards can enroll in to help support water quality, flood resilience, aquatic habitat, and river protection. We will learn about programs and strategies for conserving our rivers and streams, including River Corridor Easements and the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP), eligibility requirements and management considerations, and payment opportunities for land stewards.  This event will visit two farms. We will start at Theberge Beef at 392 Cook Rd, Sheldon, VT at 12:00 PM to view a recent CREP tree planting, then head over to 2286 Sheldon Rd, Sheldon, VT to view an established riparian buffer in land conserved under a River Corridor Easement.
