About the event
Join Franklin County NRCD for a day of stewardship and tree planting at Hard’ack Recreation Area in St. Albans! On Tuesday May 12 we will be expanding the Hard’ack Food Forest with additional trees, planting a wind break by the dog park, and planting shade trees near the playground, along with stewarding the trees at the food forest planted in 2025.
We will start the day at 10 AM, meeting at the Food Forest, which is located in the field between the dog park and Greg Brown Lodge. Please wear close-toed shoes, comfortable clothing that you are prepared to get dirty in, and outerwear for whatever weather we may encounter! Please also bring water, snacks, and anything else you might need for a full day outside.
All ages are welcome. Come for an hour, or the whole day!
FCNRCD is committed to making our events accessible to everyone. If you require an accommodation or service to fully participate, please contact Dorothy at dorothy@franklincountynrcd.org at least 3 days prior to the event.
Ample parking is located on site, with the closest parking locations on open lawn. There are bathroom facilities and water refill stations at the Greg Brown Lodge. This event will take place rain or shine. In the event of severe weather such as a thunderstorm, the event may be postponed to a later time or date. Attendees who have RSVP will be notified, and FCNRCD will post event updates to our social media.
We look forward to getting our hands dirty and making a positive impact with you!
