Saint Albans City, 9 Church St, St Albans City, VT 05478, USA
About the event
As part of a process known as Locally Led Conservation, the Franklin, Grand Isle, and Lamoille County Natural Resources Conservation Districts (NRCDs) and the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) are working together to engage with the agricultural community and beyond in Northwest Vermont in order to direct funding and resources towards efforts and programming that you all, the people on the ground, want to invest in!
As a result of similar work performed in 2023/24, there was a pool of $1.5 million of NRCS EQIP funding dedicated for projects in Franklin, Grand Isle, and Lamoille Counties as part of the Federal 2025 Fiscal Year. Additionally, workshop topics and resources ideas were generated and implemented, as well as the hiring of additional grant application and program support staff.
We would love your input to help direct future funding and resources and there are several ways to engage in this process!
Take a quick online survey - An easy way to engage in this process if you are not able to join us on February 6th.

WHEN: February 6th from 2 pm to 5 pm
WHERE: St Albans Historical Museum, Bliss Room
9 Church Street
St Albans, VT
WHAT: Help the Franklin, Grand Isle, and Lamoille County NRCDs and the USDA-NRCS shape a Conservation Action Plan based on regional Conservation Needs Assessments and community input/survey responses. The Conservation Action Plan will inform a proposal for a Local Funding Pool(s) of NRCS EQIP funds specific to Northwest Vermont. This will be a detail-oriented meeting to determine which NRCS Practices and Resource Concerns will be prioritized for funding for future years in our region. There will be other future opportunities to discuss other big picture ideas about conservation, potential solutions, and collaboration besides NRCS funding and practices.
WHO ELSE TO INVITE: This event is tailored to folks who want to engage in a process specific to the USDA-NRCS funding pool determinations.
We will also have a hybrid Zoom option for those unable to attend in person, however, in-person attendance is preferred.
There is parking, including accessible parking spots, behind the St Albans Museum if you enter the lot via Bishop Street. There are also roadside parking spots along Church Street, Fairfield Street, and Bank Street.
There is also an elevator in the St Albans Museum that will be able to bring attendees up to the third floor where this meeting will be taking place; there are also stairs. There are also accessible restrooms on each floor of the building.
We intend to record this meeting and make it publicly accessible following the event for review as well.
If you require any additional accommodations, please let us know by responding to this email or calling 802-582-3133 in advance.
Thank you
