  • Description

Red osier dogwood is a rapidly growing, spreading shrub. Showy red stems in winter. White berries and young twigs provide food for a wide variety of wildlife. It is favored for streambank stabilization because it is perfectly fine being planted into saturated soil or standing water. Like willows and other dogwoods, it can be planted as a "live stake."
