Assistance for Maple Producers

Maple in Franklin County

Given the geographic spread and economic importance of maple production in Franklin County, it is very important to support local sugar makers. These producers operate in a unique space that requires both agricultural and forestry knowledge and resources. Vermont maple producers have specific needs and questions pertaining to water quality, soil health, wildlife habitat, and economic viability. FCNRCD is committed to addressing these needs and providing assistance to maple producers throughout Franklin County.

Site Visits

The FCNRCD is partnering with Vermont Forest, Parks and Recreation to conduct site visits with Franklin County maple producers. During these site visits, FCNRCD staff will discuss acceptable management practice (AMP) adoption, road erosion, water quality, and any other environmental concerns raised by the landowner.
