Canoe Lessons and How the River Shaped Abenaki Life

Thanks to a UMATR River Communities Grant, the Town of Richford will be hosting canoe lessons for up to twelve participants at 9am-12:30pm at Davis Park. Lunch will be provided. These lessons are for adults and for families. Boats, paddles and PFDs will be provided for those who do not have their own. PFDs must be worn whenever in canoes for insurance purposes. Rain date is July 10th.

This event is paired with a larger afternoon event that involves the Missisquoi Abenaki band with a presentation about the river on culture and history, story-telling, drumming, artisans and more.

This is a free event but registration is required.

If you have any questions about this event, please contact Charen Fegard at cfegard@richfordvt.org.
