Woodchip Pad Tour in South Wheelock on April 29th

Check out this upcoming event from our friends at Caledonia County Natural Resources Conservation District!

Friday, April 29th, 2022

10 am - 12 pm

Chandler Pond Farm

528 Burroughs Road

South Wheelock

Woodchip pads are a livestock holding area that uses screened woodchips as a surface material instead of concrete. This practice can help protect pastured during sensitive times of year, increase animal comfort, can be less expensive than the concrete alternative, and can help protect clean water.

Come see this innovative conservation practice in action at Chandler Pond Farm. Joshua Faulkner (UVM) and Matt Garden (VT Agency of Ag Engineer) will be on hand to explain the practice and answer questions. Water quality credits available.

RSVP with Emily Finnegan at the Caledonia County Natural Resources Conservation District at 802-424-3149 or emily.finnegan@vt.nacdnet.net

Support provided by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets
